Located at the north end of the island of the The Hidden Vale, nestled among the mountains sits the city of Owl’s Head. As the provincial seat of The Hidden Vale, the atmosphere in Owl’s Head is a little more formal than one will find in the smaller towns and villages of the island. The population of this city rivals that of the rest of The Vale combined, with a local shopping scene to match. Visitors approaching Owl’s Head will almost assuredly first notice the active volcano in the distance, a landmark reflected in the coat of arms. Owl’s Head also represents the military and political center of the region.
Arriving by land or Lunar Rift, visitors will approach from the south, passing through the outer suburbs before crossing the river bridge into the outer city.
The city of Owl’s Head is divided into three neighborhoods: The Inner City, The Outer City, and the Outer Suburbs.
The Inner City is the political and military center of the Hidden Vale. Here the town hall (its name preserved from when Owl’s Head was but a small town) and office of the captain of the guards can be found surrounding the beautiful town fountain. The inner city also houses the elite Barons and Lords of The Vale and a small merchants’ circle. The merchants here sell a variety of basic foods to keep the city’s taverns stocked. For those seeking the more dangerous side of Owl’s Head, the infamous Clinc is in the southeast corner of the inner city.
The Outer City is the center of commerce for the island, with several well known establishments, including The Fire Lotus Tavern and the College of arms along side the busy merchants of Peddler’s Row. For those travelers with raw materials that need to be prepared for market, the outer city also offers the largest public crafting pavilion in the Hidden Vale. Along with the busy markets of the outer city, a growing populace of Lords and Knights has taken hold in the outer city bringing a wide array of goods and services. The outer city is also home to one of the prides of Owl’s Head – the Moon Tower.
The Suburbs surrounding the walled city of Owl’s Head consist of the more populated southern suburbs, which visitors will pass through when approaching from the south, as well as the more sparsely populated western suburbs. Recently a Lord of the Manor has established their castle in-between the southern and western Suburbs, while the local Duke has built their keep north of the western suburbs.
Eating and Drinking
Fire Lotus Tavern - The most famous establishment in Owl’s Head and possibly all of New Britannia. The Fire Lotus Tavern is frequented by locals, travelers, and adventurers alike, served the finest Brittany Ale by the tavern’s barkeep, Thomas Strongbeard. This tavern bares the Sigil of the Portalarium Community Manager Gina “FireLotus” Dionne.
Stable of Owl’s Head – For those visitors seeking horses and other pack animals, the Stables of Owl’s Head has been the choice of locals for over a generation.
The merchants in the inner city provide a fresh food market, whilst those in the outer city provide more general services such as food, decorations, crafting materials and tools. At the very Southernmost end of the road out of town there are a group of merchants who specialize in housing decorations, ranging from cheap candles to very expensive items.
Points of Interest
The Clink – The city jail is located under the Western gate of the Inner City. The guards don’t take kindly to tourists, but you may be able to pop your head in and have a look around. Unbeknownst to many, secret doors allow access to a variety of locations throughout the prison, allowing the Warden to quickly travel and avoid dangers.
The Crafting Pavilion – The crafting pavilion at the heart of the Outer City has everything a budding apprentice might need to practice their crafting skills. Emily, the crafting goods master, sells some basic materials and tools, but you may have to provide many of the materials yourself.
The Moon Tower – The Moon Tower dominates the skyline and provides protection for the Inner and Outer city areas. It’s workings seem to be a closely guarded secret, this writer was unable to discover the mechanism that powers this great tower. Those wishing to visit it will find it directly in front of the inner city wall on the western side of the outer city.
Honor Graveyard – Just behind The Moon Tower is a small graveyard where the most honored citizens of Owls Head are buried.
Town square marketplace – The Marketplace in Owl’s Head can be found in the center of the city at the Town Square.

Myra the Farmer
Asking Myra, the merchant in the southern Owl's Head Market about her "farm" and her "brother" will cause her to request that you free him from The Clink.
Lord Delbert Enmar
Asking Enmar about "bandits" will make him request red bandit sashes, "undead" causes him to request ectoplasmic residue, and asking about the "throne" of bone will cause him to ask you to completeWinslow's quest.
Guard Captain Dreyfus
We are in dire need of the healing herbs prepared by an alchemist. Unfortunately, there is not an alchemist in Owls Head, but there is a fairly skilled one in Kingsport that sells the results of her work in the town market. If you can see that they are brought here, both Winslow and I would be in your debt. Winslow is not doing well.
See Julia the Alchemist in Kingsport for the cure.
Asking the bartender of the Fire Lotus Tavern about "quests" will cause him to ask about his ale being held up in Kingsport, as well as mentioning the "throne" ruins. He can also direct you to ask Guard-Captain Dreyfus about Winslow.
While talking to Bentham inside the Tesla tower, he will mention the need for "Silver Ore" which can be gathered in deposits around the Hidden Vale.
Morgan the Fishmonger
Ask Morgan, the merchant across the mini-bazaar from Myra about his "job", then tell him "sure" twice and he will request that you tell Todd that "Myra's meat is spoiled". If you do this and then tell Morgan "The task is done" he will say you get a discount. If you do this, Myra will no longer speak to you and you will be unable to finish her quest if you have not done so already.
Morton, a traveling merchant hanging out in the Fire Lotus Tavern will ask you to get his ledger from his home in Kingsport if you buy him a "beer" and then ask him about his "book" which is gotten from Alicia the Alchemist.
